We drove as far as Ouvrage Saint Ours Haut. From there, we hiked this route, among others. A few hundred meters after crossing the stream, there’s a fork in the road (near Pre du Jas) leading left up the valley. There’s a no-entry sign there. The ban makes sense, since this is a popular hiking area. The hike to Baraquement and Col de Mallemort is well worth it. There’s also a marked MTB route
As I've mentioned several times before, the tunnel is closed. However, you can easily drive up to the tunnel from the northwest/Crévoux. The road was also in good condition this past July. There are a few nice places to camp overnight along the route. What I’ve heard—but haven’t seen myself—is that the other side is closed.
Hey everyone, This was only my second ride, and I thought it was pretty good. It’s easy to find, even without GPS. The directions are definitely accurate, and before the final stretch—which isn’t passable by larger vehicles (a Sprinter or similar vehicle is guaranteed to get scratches on the paint)—you still have the option to turn off onto the main road.
